What to do if the store has no price adjustment policy
Some stores do not publish a post-purchase adjustment. Here is what their own pages say, plus fallback options. Last verified October 17, 2026.
Stores where we found no window
- Walmart: its price match policy says Walmart.com does not price match items previously purchased that later decreased in price. Its return policy (updated October 9, 2026) generally allows 90 days for most items, with extended holiday returns for most items bought October 1 through December 31 (until January 31), with exceptions listed on the page.
- Lowe's: the Lowest Price Guarantee page describes matching before purchase.
- Sam's Club: no competitor matching; no window stated.
- BJ's: TV price match is day-of-purchase only.
- Amazon: no general adjustment found; a Pre-Order Price Guarantee covers eligible pre-orders.
Fallback options
- Return and rebuy if the return window is still open and the item is returnable. Check the store's return page first, because some categories have shorter windows (for example, Best Buy's standard return period is 15 days for most products, 60 days for paid members, per its return policy).
- Ask politely. Several policies say the store or manager has final say; a goodwill adjustment is possible but never promised.
- Next time: for big purchases, check the policy before buying. Our store table shows published windows.
Return policies have exceptions (restocking fees, final-sale items). Read the store's page. This is not legal advice.
